πŸ‘‹ say hello to comments on Stories.

This week, Instagram announced the official roll out of Story Comments.

Previously, responses to stories were limited to private messages visible only to the user. But now, users who follow each other can leave comments on Stories for up to 24 hours.

Although comments are limited to mutuals (accounts who follow you, that you follow back), comments left on stories are public and shown to all of your Instagram followers.

Luckily if you’re reading this and thinking β€œugh, not a fan!” you can toggle the Story Comment feature on/off in your Instagram settings.

A while back, Instagram shared that users spend most of their time on the platform:

β†’ In DMs
β†’ Then viewing and engaging with stories
β†’ THEN scrolling through feed tabs

So prioritising new story features that’ll encourage engagement and conversation does make sense. I’m surprisingly down for this one. Thanks IG!

Two videos have the internet hooked this week, and they have one thing in common.

British electrical retailer Curry’s and an 880 year old independent B&B have owned my TikTok feeds this week - because they both let their Gen Z team write their marketing scripts.

From Fyfield Manor’s garden giving relaxation and medieval dining room having so much rizz, to Curry’s Brat summer offers hitting different AF - with microwaves that eat and leave no crumbs….

I’m obsessed. Both videos are up into the millions of views, and users in comments seem to be loving it too.

If you’ve got a Gen Z in the office, and a peer who’ll thrive in front of the camera - this could be a fun trend to try this week!
