Guess what’s not a crime?

✨ Repurposing your social media content ✨

YUP!! Mind-blowing, but so true.

It’s so easy to get caught up in the cyclone of trying to be endlessly creative - wanting every single post to feel like a fresh, never-before-seen idea. But here’s the thing: you don’t need to reinvent the wheel every time you post.

You can make your life SO much easier by admitting that your content is already good (like… really good), and simply finding new ways to share it.

Think of it as working smarter, not harder. After all, you’ve already done the hard work - so why let it live and die in a single post?

What are we waiting for? Let’s dive in and see how savvy repurposing can level up your social media game by:

️⚡ Spotting opportunities for repurposing.

️️⚡ Turning one idea into multiple formats.

️⚡ Exploring new platforms - without piling on the workload.

Because truly, like I said, your content is WAY too good to only be seen once!

what is content repurposing?

Content repurposing is all about taking a piece of content you’ve already created and reshaping it into different formats or tailoring it for different platforms.

It’s the same core message - just served in multiple ways to meet your audience where they are, or in the language they speak.

(Like literally don’t be afraid to put a TikTok trend on LinkedIn - because in all honesty, your connections hang out there too).

isn’t that cheating? why should I repurpose?

Short answer: nope.

Long answer: absolutely not.

Think about your audience…

🩷 Not everyone sees your content the first time you post it - this can be for a variety of reasons including: saturated feed, didn’t log on to the platform that day, was away or so on.

🩷 Different people hang out on different platforms - some people may only follow you on one platform, making your content privy to one set of eyes.

🩷 Some people love reading in-depth blogs, while others just want short posts, or quick videos.

Repurposing isn’t “cheating”. It’s making sure your message actually reaches more people - without burning yourself out in the process.

Quick-fire pros:

💫 Reach a wider audience and boost discoverability.

💫 Increase engagement.

💫 Make the most out of your content and reinforce your message.

💫 Consistency without burnout.

💫 Extend your content’s lifespan.

okay I’m on board… how do I go about this?

Take a step back and identify one piece of content you think is GREAT and ask:

🩷 Can I turn this into a different format? (e.g. text to video, video to graphic, graphic to blog post).

🩷 Can I adapt it for a different platform? (e.g. LinkedIn to Instagram to TikTok).

🩷 Can I break it down and deep dive into the topic further?

If you’re not sure what piece of content to start with - utilise your analytics tools or even ask AI which of your posts resonated with your audience the most (using AI to identify content opportunities is also not cheating).

Example:

You post a 2-minute reel on Instagram, sharing three rising marketing trends. That one video can also become:

💫 A carousel with each tip as a slide.

💫 Three standalone posts with one tip per post.

💫 A blog or newsletter that dives deeper into them.

💫 A story highlight with engagement opportunities like a poll or Q&A.

One brilliant idea. Four + formats. Zero extra brainstorming.

And it will become the norm! Over time you’ll be able to identify TikTok trends that you can cross-share on your LinkedIn or Instagram and so on.

It’s all about being savvy, understanding your audience and meeting them where they are.

I can have more comms channels without the extra work? YES PLSSS !!!

Repurposing your content is your ticket to showing up consistently across multiple platforms without doubling your workload. Instead of battling multiple ideas at once, focus on squeezing everything you can from one good idea.

Take this for an example: You might think that a newsletter, blog, or Substack would be a lot of extra work on top of everything you do. But your killer LinkedIn thought piece can be reworked into this format without too much extra effort.

Oh or… Your webinar or podcast into short digestible reels or TikToks (GENIUS).

Identify what platforms you’re on and what comms channels are available, and see if you could balance more by simply repurposing some of the content you’re already publishing.

The more your audience sees your message repeated (in different ways), the more it sticks.
