50 questions for an insightful half-year review (with yourself)

This is it, dear marketing friends. Half of 2025 is gone.

And whether you're happy, sad, or can’t be bothered about it, the facts remain:
We’ve got six months left to make this year the best one yet.
So without further ado - LET’S DIVE IN! 🚀

Part 1: Reflecting on your 2025 so far 👀

Before you jump headfirst into the heat of summer -literally or figuratively- this is your chance to pause. Take a step back. Zoom out.

Mid-year is an underrated moment. We’re often too busy sprinting toward year-end goals to notice how far we’ve already come - or to ask whether we’re still heading in the right direction.

This section is all about that pause. It’s where insight starts.

So grab a notebook, open a blank doc, or go analog with your favorite pen. Let’s begin:

🔍 Looking back before moving forward:

  1. What three things am I most proud of from the past 6 months?

  2. What were my biggest professional wins?

  3. What did I learn about myself?

  4. Where did I surprise myself?

  5. What was a low point - and what did I learn from it?

  6. What skills did I develop or sharpen?

  7. What did I waste energy on that I won’t repeat?

  8. When did I feel most energised at work?

  9. When did I feel most drained?

  10. What feedback stuck with me - and why?

  11. Did I meet the goals I set in January? Why or why not?

  12. What habits or routines helped me?

  13. What held me back?

  14. What have I been avoiding?

  15. What’s no longer serving me professionally?

That’s your mirror for the first half of 2025. Coming up in Part 2, we’ll take those reflections and start thinking bigger: what you really want from the next six months. Ready to dream a little?

Part 2: Making 2025 the best year yet 🤸‍♀️

Now that you’ve reflected on where you’ve been, let’s talk about where you want to go.

This is your space to think bigger and bolder. To zoom out from the daily grind and tap into your long-term vision, your values, and your untapped ambitions. There are no wrong answers here - only honest ones. Be bold. Be playful. Dream out loud.

💥Committing intentionally to the next 6 months:

  1. If I could wave a magic wand, what would my career look like by the end of the year?

  2. What one-word theme would I love the rest of 2025 to have?

  3. What would success feel like on December 31st?

  4. What’s one dream I’ve kept on the back burner?

  5. What do I want to be known for by the end of this year?

  6. What kind of impact do I want to make in my current role or industry?

  7. What would I do more of if fear wasn’t a factor?

  8. If I could redesign my ideal workweek, what would I keep - and what would I cut?

  9. Who or what inspires me right now - and why?

  10. What kind of professional growth do I crave most right now?

  11. What’s a bold career goal I’ve been afraid to say out loud?

  12. What opportunity would I love to say yes to in the next 6 months?

  13. Where do I want to level up next - skills, leadership, visibility?

  14. What boundaries do I want to set or reinforce?

  15. How do I want to feel about work this time in December?

You don’t need a five-year plan. You just need clarity on what matters to you right now. With that in mind: let’s turn that clarity into action.

Part 3: Turning clarity into action 🚀

You’ve looked back. You’ve looked ahead. Now it’s time to do something with all of that insight. Not in a “hustle harder” way. But in a clear, focused, I-know-what-matters-to-me kind of way.

This final section is where intentions turn into choices - and choices turn into change. Let’s map out your next steps and start making them real.

🔥 Turning insight into motion & concrete action:

  1. What theme or learning from Part 1 do I most want to carry forward into the next 6 months?

  2. What did I say I wanted more of in Part 2 - and how can I create space for that?

  3. What will I say yes to this quarter - even if it’s a little scary?

  4. What will I say no to this quarter - and mean it?

  5. What’s one thing I need to stop doing -or delegate- based on what’s not serving me anymore?

  6. What’s my number one priority for Q3?

  7. What’s one small habit I can start this week that supports that priority?

  8. What’s one project I could start -or finally finish- to build momentum?

  9. What’s something I’ve been avoiding that I’m now ready to face?

  10. What’s one bold idea from Part 2 that I could turn into a first step?

  11. Who can I ask for help, feedback, or mentorship?

  12. What professional relationship could I nurture this month?

  13. What boundary do I need to reinforce more clearly - and why?

  14. What do I need to update (LinkedIn, CV, portfolio, website)?

  15. What training, course, or coaching could unlock the next level for me?

  16. What risk am I willing to take in the next 30 days?

  17. What’s my next milestone - and what’s the very first step toward it?

  18. How can I build in time for rest and recovery in the second half of the year?

  19. What would make work more fun or fulfilling this season?

  20. What reminder or mantra will keep me focused when things get chaotic?

Food for Thoughts:

You just answered (or at least skimmed 👀) 50 big, juicy questions. That’s no small feat. But now comes the real challenge: how can you make sure your answers support your growth - and don’t slip into oblivion the minute you close this tab?

A few prompts to chew on:

  • Have you written down the answers that really surprised you?

  • Could you block 30 minutes next week to revisit them - and highlight 1–3 priorities?

  • What’s one way you could turn insight into structure (a checklist, calendar reminder, vision board, sticky note)?

  • Could you share one answer with a peer, mentor, or coach (hello 💁🏻‍♀️) for support or accountability?

Your reflections are powerful. But only if you give them a second life. So before you move on - pick one answer, one action, one reminder. Let it stick.

And if you need a thinking partner to bring it all to life - or just a career-safe space to talk through the curveballs - I’m only a call away you legend.

Here's to your career success, happiness and the legendary coming 6 months, you've got this! 🤘
